*This tutorial is my own creation, from my own imagination.  Any similarities are completely coincidental!*

 

This tutorial was written in PSP9, but should easily transfer to other versions!

 

I had SO much fun playing with the kit "Spellbound" by Jackie's Jewels.  With 119 Elements and 15 papers, it is a GREAT kit for all of your spooky Halloween tagging needs!

 

Supplies:

 

Kit of choice: I'm using the PTU Kit "Spellbound" by Jackie's Jewels, which you can buy from Pimpin' PSPers Warehouse.

 

Tube of choice: I'm using the beautiful artwork of Barbara Jensen.  You can buy this tube from her store HERE.  Please do not use her artwork without having the proper license to do so.

 

Mask of choice:  I'm using the awesome Mask 225 from Gems Taggin' Scraps, which you can find HERE.

 

Font of choice:  I'm using the font Magic School, which you can pick up  HERE.

 

Plugins Used:

Xero: Radiance

 

 

 

Ready? Let's get started!!

 

1.  Start with a new canvas, 650x650, transparent background.

 

2.  From the kit, copy JJS_88 (moon) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 45% and place in the upper right hand area of the canvas.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.  I used a setting of 2,2,78, 9.00 with the color black.

 

3.  From the kit, copy JJS_61 (big tree) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 60% and place on the left hand side of the canvas.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

4.  From the kit, copy JJS_94 (smaller tree) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 70%.  Image > Mirror.  Place on the right hand side of the canvas, in front of the moon.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

5.  From the kit, copy JJS_4 (gothic window) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 50% and place in front of the big tree (see my tag for placement).  On your layer palette, right click and duplicate.  Image > Mirror.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

6.  From the kit, copy JJS_50 (welcome sign) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 50%.  Image > Rotate > Left > 25 > All Layers UNCHECKED.  Place in between the trees and windows.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

7.  From the kit, copy JJS_44 (pile of skulls) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 60%.  Place in front and down of the Welcome sign.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

8.  From the kit, copy JJS_103 (bookcase) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 75% and place in between the windows and arrange it to where it looks like the pile of skulls is resting on top of the bookcase.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

9.  From the kit, copy JJS_27 (table with bloody knife) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 45% and place in front of the window on the left side.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

10.  From the kit, copy JJS_9 (chest) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 65%.  Image > Mirror.  Place in front of the table.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

11.  From the kit, copy JJS_109 (wicker chest) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 35% and place in front of the right window.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

12.  From the kit, copy JJS_115 (Ouija board) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 50% and place on top of the wicker chest.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

13.  From the kit, copy JJS_64 (cauldron) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 40% and place on the left, forward of the wicker chest.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

14.  From the kit, copy JJS_106 (paper stack) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 45% and place in front of the chest on the left hand side.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

15.  From the kit, copy JJS_40 (crystal ball) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 30% and place on top of the wicker chest, in front of the Ouija board.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

16.  From the kit, copy JJS_39 (stone chalice) and paste as a new layer on the canvas.  Resize 45% and place on top of the paper stack.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

17.  From the kit, copy JJSPP_15 and paste as a new layer on your canvas.  Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom.

 

18.  Apply your mask of choice.  Layers > Merge > Merge Group.

 

19.  Copy and paste your tube of choice.  Layers > Arrange > Bring to Top.  Resize as needed for your tag.

 

20.  In your Layers Palette, right click on your tube layer and duplicate.

 

21.  On the original tube layer (the one underneath the copy), apply Xero: Radiance with the default settings.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.

 

22.  On the duplicate tube layer, in the Layers Palette, adjust the blend mode to your liking.  For my tube, I used Overlay.

 

23.  For the font, I set my foreground to black and my background to #8a3d3d and used the texture "Crumpled Paper" which comes with PSP.  Font size of 85 and a stroke width of 2.  Apply a drop shadow of your choice.  In your Layers Palette, right click on the name layer and Duplicate.

 

24.  Resize your tag now if needed, otherwise, add your copyright then Layers > Merge > Merge Visible and save as PNG!
